Every good name is a promise. Ours is simple: coffee taken seriously — with a little swagger. An offer you can't refuse.
The Goat Father started with a stubborn idea — that a coffee corner in a Bali surf town could hold its own against any European café. Not with noise, but with craft. Beans sourced with intent and our own blends. Milk made from scratch. Pastries laminated by hand before the sun is fully up.
We're small on purpose. Tucked inside The Avocado Factory in Berawa, we've become a daily ritual for the people who know — an undiscovered gem that quietly pulls some of the most precise shots in Canggu. Prop up the bar, order the almond flat white, and you'll understand why they come back the next morning.
The coffee
Our own blends, pulled with precision
We build our own blends and dial them in daily, so we can taste every batch. A tight, deliberate line-up rotates behind the bar — Java Puntang, the floral Rosella Anferara from Ethiopia, Brazil Cerrado, and deep, earthy Tanah Karo — alongside a house espresso built for milk.
Ask what's on today. The answer is half the pleasure.
The bake house
The second half of the ritual
A great coffee deserves a great companion. Our croissants are laminated and baked fresh each morning — golden, honest, and gone by mid-morning most days. Pain au chocolat, almond croissants, focaccia mortadella and pastel de nata round out the case.
It's the kind of croissant that makes people miss their train home.
The family
Part of the Tavolo Group
The Goat Father is one of a family of Canggu venues under the Tavolo Group — independent in spirit, connected in standards. Same obsession with sourcing, the same refusal to cut corners, the same welcome behind the bar.
